Typical Puppy day!

A typical puppy day at Strike Golden is filled with fun, structure, and plenty of learning. We begin early potty training around 2.5 weeks old by creating a separate potty area within their space, lined with artificial turf and a potty pad underneath. It’s always amazing how quickly the entire litter learns to use the designated spot—puppies are far more capable at this young age than most people realize!

By the time our puppies reach 5 weeks, our daily home routine is simple, structured, and designed to help our puppies thrive. Mornings begin with waking up and heading straight outside for their first potty break. Then we feed them breakfast and will potty again for their moring poo. After that comes playtime, where they explore, interact with us, and experience new sights and sounds.

Following play, they settle in for a long nap. As soon as the first puppy wakes, we begin taking them outside for another potty break. The day continues with a balanced rhythm of play, lunch, potty time, more activities, and sometimes visits from friends for additional socialization. After another nap, it’s dinnertime, followed by one last trip outside and a final play session before lights out.

At night, the puppies sleep in our living room. If they need to relieve themselves, they quietly use the turf and then go right back to sleep. This gentle routine reinforces outdoor potty habits. Many of our families tell us how grateful they are that their puppies are so easy to potty train.
